November 4 is just around the corner and our grassroots campaign for budgetary sanity and economic growth continues to gain against the machine-made candidate

similar to the highly unpopular current council. In talking to actual voters, I know they want lower taxes, reduced waste and fraud, crime control, and a city council that's serious about governance and problem solving. Like this neighbor: "I'm not sure what it takes to wake more people up to the direction the city is heading, but it’s reassuring to see people like you running. We don’t often have much policy diversity within leadership so my vote for you feels amazing!''

If you are new to our campaign, please view the short video at the second photo (right). It's a brief bio and a strong summation of why I could not sit back for the same old City Hall. Or click on my strong 90-second "Closing Statement" at the link in the upper blue box. It's been a hard battle against the big-money system, so I really welcome your support. NO KINGS! NO KING MAKERS IN WARD 11!    UPDATEI did a 42-minute interview with local analyst Terry White of Better Minneapolis Substack platform, and I gained another valued 2nd choice from respected observer David Brauer. Read it here!

I quickly developed a new sign for the city council race upon hearing that Councilmember Ellison was living mostly in Boston. It's just the latest ethical lapse in state and local government, so I’m running as a true independent without PAC money or secret promises. The only endorsement I need is yours. Please consider a yard sign to help me fight for honest leadership, and smart budgeting that puts real problem solving above finger pointing and politicking. 651-343-9095.

I'm very pleased with the statements in my Star Tribune Candidate Survey. Read them in my latest blogpost!

Hello future constituents,

jim closeup.jpg

I'm Jim Meyer, LPN, with 17 years at the state-run Veterans Home. I'm running in Ward 11 as a true independent. I joined the race because so few candidates for mayor or council were focused on rising taxes and worsening core services. I'm running to support badly needed revenue growth through big and small business development, and aggressive job training and workforce re-development. In my neutral position, I feel I can more honestly assess our city's Budgetary and Economic Stability (B.E.S.T) amid rising costs, automation job loss, recession risks and other funding challenges we face at the state and federal level.

That's me (center) flyin' the flannel at the 2022 Ward 8 + Ward 11 elected reps Senior Fair at Sabathani with then-council president Andrea Jenkins, CM Emily Koski, and Hennepin County Commissioner Angela Conley. Attorney General Keith Ellison was particularly sharp around senior swindle and other consumer protections. Valuable workshops reinforced that topic and other helpful hints. I've attended four years in a row. I thank the officials for hosting this annual event.
